Manifesting If you believe it, you will achieve it. A quote from Napolean Hill. Well, not exactly a quote, but close to his original saying. I believe that quote to be a Truth, with a capital T . There is no way that I would be where I am today without the belief that I could control my destiny and make my dreams come true. I do think that people often will embrace the philosophy of such movies as "The Secret" but they somehow tune out the parts that say that you have to take action. The great works of Edison and Ford (to use two example from The Secret) did not happen because those two men sat in their living rooms dreaming about it, and feeling positive and embracing the dream with the full power of their hearts, minds and souls. The thought process and the embracing process are very important, and I don't think anything happens without those first two steps, but without the action, the first two steps will stay internal, in almost all situations. I know this may be counter-Abraham, but without action nothing moves. I think you have to sort through tons of rock to get to the diamonds, and some of that rubble rousing is going to be internal and some needs to be external. Thoughts become things. Ok, there's a bunch of stuff coming out about "The Secret" now. Positive stuff, negative stuff. No neutral stuff (that I've heard anyway.) There are different sides to come down on, I guess. I've heard it's too materialistic. I've heard it exploits non-whites. Exposes them, or shows them wanting a different level of things. Example, there was a quote that not everyone wants the same things, so we can't run out of things. Then they show a white guy with a fancy car and an Asian woman with a sampan, like all Asian people want sampans. All I saw was two people smiling about something they desired. I certainly don't see me wanting the same things as anybody. Maybe some of the same things, but we all do have different desires. I want a commercial type video camera and equipment to do sound recordings. Most people I tell that to look at me like I have three eyeballs or something. But I don't want a GMC Hummer, and that might be your dream. We saw a woman on a talk show saying that people are so stupid (this isn't a direct quote) that they will sit at home and say "Thank you for my healing" instead of going to a doctor. If they are going to do that, it might be because they can't afford a doctor, or they might not trust doctors. I don't see anyone deciding how to address their health based on a movie. I'm going to say that you see what you want to see in everything. You could see me handing a turkey to one of my tenants at Thanksgiving and say, "What you think she can't buy her own turkey. Oh, she's incapable of feeding her kids because she's black?" Or you could see a gesture of good will. Whatever you want to see, you will manage to see. Even if it's not there. (Wow, your thoughts becoming things...) This leads into where I wanted to go in the first place. Thoughts become things. Not all thoughts become things. You have to take action and make an effort to make the things. All inventions started out as thoughts. All products started out as thoughts. Paintings... thoughts. (Well, maybe some art isn't well thought out, but that's an opinion.) Someone designed the clothing you are wearing. It started as a thought. If you are handy with a needle
and thread, it might have been your thought. This page started as a thought. Now it is real. As real as anything that has ever been. If you want to, you can print it out. Luckily someone thought that a device to print would be pretty cool to have.
